Cody and Dad made it home on Saturday around 5 p.m. Casey was going crazy waiting for them to get there, and she had a fun idea to make them a welcome home banner. Mom found us some construction paper and we got started. It turned out really cute and kept us busy for a little bit!
Casey and the kids were outside waiting for them to pull in the driveway, and I was inside the house with my camera. Dad was driving and pulled halfway into the driveway, and then Cody hopped out and hurried over to his little family while dad backed the car up to park it.
My poor mom was trying to get dinner ready on the grill and couldn’t leave it to go down to them because she was worried it would burn. I hurried down to give Cody a hug and then told him to go right to mom on the patio because she couldn’t stand it any longer.
I love this next picture so much and I hope they don’t get upset with me for sharing it. It shows exactly how much mom has been missing Cody these past 15 months…
There’s just nothing on earth that can compare to the love a mother has for her children. Cody and dad had a scary almost-accident on the way home, and we’re so thankful that they made it here okay. I know that there were a lot of people praying for them to get here safely. We’re so happy you guys are back in Idaho again!
