The Windmills

We took a drive the other day to see the windmills up above Idaho Falls.  We spent several hours driving on the back roads through Firth and Shelley, and finally ended up where we were headed.  The kids were laughing and playing in the backseat, and Joe and I talked about random things that we saw on the drive.

It was a good way to spend our afternoon.  Much better than sitting at home!

After driving up to the windmills we were getting hungry for dinner, so we drove back down to Idaho Falls and grabbed some fried chicken and things for a picnic.  We drove over to the park on Holmes and spread out our stuff on a picnic table.  We were all in a good mood from the beautiful weather, I think it was somewhere between 75-80 degrees!

We loaded up our stuff and Joe drove us over by the river so he could play with his rock crawler.  He’s been working on one in the garage for a few weeks now.  I think he wants to get one ready so that he and Easton can both take them out and play at the same time.

In this next picture you can see the Drive-In movie place.  I was worried last year when they posted a sign that it was for sale and then it closed for the season.  I didn’t know if it would be back again, so I’m happy that it’s open now.  I hope we can take the kids this year!

We stuck to the back roads again on the ride home.  Next time we’ll have to remember the sunscreen because we all got a little color.  Other than that it was a great day!
